Allyson Felix

Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985, in Los Angeles. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister in the Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet school for children in the elementary grades. Felix displayed an early talent for athletics when she was attending Los Angeles Baptist High School. Her sprinting ability at the at the time. Just 10 weeks after her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200 meters in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003, Felix graduated from high school signing a professional contract with the sports company Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she completed her elementary education. The first Olympic medal came during the 2004 Summer Olympics which took place in Athens Greece. Felix set the world junior record by the 200m race in 22.18 secs. In 2005, the Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007 she defended that title, beating her Jamaican competitor Veronica Campbell. Felix consistently placed within the top three in all of her events in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
